Unpopular Work–Pastor H.A. Ironside (1876-1951)

Exposing error is most unpopular work. But from every true standpoint it is worthwhile work. To our Savior, it means that He receives from us, His blood-bought ones, the loyalty that is His due. To ourselves, if we consider “the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt,” it ensures future reward, a thousand-fold. And to souls “caught in the snare of the fowler” – how many of them God only knows – it may mean light and life, abundant and everlasting. ~ Dr. Harry Ironside

WHEN CHRISTIANS TOLERATE EVERYTHING AND EVERYBODY, YOU CANNOT GUARD THE FLOCK AGAINST WOLVES

I know, I know. So much easier to speak only about things like grace, and forgiveness, and love. And these are vital (an understatement). But the visible church has been and is being flooded with false teachers and teachings, with progressive “Christianity,” and hellish Bible versions, and pluralism, false television “Christs” and so much more.

People do not like to be warned. They do not like learning anything “negative” (even if true) especially if it’s about teachers or teachings they are enamored with.

Honor Christ and warn His people.

Help and warn those who are remaking, reshaping, or customizing a “Christ.”

The following is an article by Marsha West. She writes:

Like the Burger King Whopper, many people customize Jesus so that they can have Him their way. Nowadays the Jesus portrayed in the Bible is out! Passe! People who customize Jesus for whatever reason have no problem admitting that they do not hold to the infallibility of Holy Writ. Out with the Bible! The customizers have sculpted a modern-day culturally relevant man of the people Jesus who is fully onboard with their social justice agenda. Their Jesus would have no problem participating in a yoga class. In fact, he’d most likely lead the class. These customizers can imagine their Jesus beginning his class with the Hindu greeting: “Namaste (the divine in me bows to the divine in you).”

The person I described is “Have Him Your Way Jesus.” There is nothing biblical about him. Progressives believe that culturally relevant Jesus would march in an LGBTQIA+++ parade. He would also participate in a pro-abortion rally. …Continue reading article…

Digital Addiction: What the neuroscience shows

A Christian couple and their 12 year old grandson recently watched the following teaching, Digital Addiction: What The Neuroscience Shows by Brad Huddleston. The grandparents and grandson were amazed and astonished. No hyperbole here. This is a profound teaching.

It turns out there is something far more seductive than A.A. and the 12 Steps, the New Apostolic Reformation, contemplative prayer, and so many of the other things that are weakening the Body of Christ. Please consider supporting Christian missionary Brad Huddleston, a man with a difficult ministry indeed.

No 12 Step programs in church, turn to model in Acts 2

This brief comment about (not) using the 12 Steps is just a small part of this amazing sermon by Pastor Mike Warren. More than ever I am convinced we should be living according to the model of Acts: 2:42-47 rather than sending people from our churches into the pagan spirituality of Alcoholics Anonymous and other 12 Step groups. According to Pastor Warren:

“…because we have people coming to our church and they’re always asking me, “Do you have a 12 Step program?”

And I said, “Yes, we do, but it depends where you sit in the congregation.”

They said, “What do you mean?”

“Well if it’s 12 steps from where you’re seated to the front where you get regenerated, then yes, we have we have a 12 Step program. But it could be 14, it could be 15, it could be 20.” Because we believe in the power of regeneration. We are a new creature in Christ Jesus. We are regenerated by that work of the Holy Spirit–not because of any goodness in us, but because he’s merciful He did that!”

Hope you can listen to Pastor Warren’s entire sermon.

But really, here is what the Body of Christ should be asking: Is 1 Cor 6: 9-11 true or not? Did people get free of alcohol or not? The Word of God says “yes.”

According to the Bible:

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosex-uals, (1 Cor 6:9)

nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. (v10) (emphasis mine)

Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. (v10)

Christians need to understand what A.A. is–and what it isn’t. I wrote this booklet some time ago, not specifically for alcoholics (saved or unsaved) but for the Body of Christ. So that we would know what we are dealing with. So that changes could be made. So that we could return to looking to Him.

Here is the booklet if you would like to read it.
