What do Mormons hope to gain from being involved with The Chosen?

Just some questions here, and your responses are welcome. Is it coincidence or no big deal that two of the Executive Producers of The Chosen are Mormons? Is there an underlying motive? Is this serving ultimately as entrance into the Body of Christ in the eyes of many so-called biblical Christians?

Should biblical Christians be taking 2 Corinthians 6:14-17 into account when it comes to Mormon involvement with the show?

Or, are these just stupid questions, and it’s just a tv show about Christ and His disciples?

Jesus is Son of God but not God?

According to 2 Timothy 2:24:

And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, (v24)

in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, (v25)

and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will. (v26)

It is a growing movement, those who acknowledge Jesus as the Son of God, while denying his Deity.

Yet, long before Christ was born, the prophet Isaiah prophesied His birth–and called him God. According to Isaiah 9:6:

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

Mighty God.

In Revelation 1:8 Christ refers to Himself as the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End.

BEHOLD, HE IS COMING WITH THE CLOUDS, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him. So it is to be. Amen. (v7)

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” (v8)

Christ is God. He is fully God and fully man. He is the God who died for you and me.

Keep studying my friend. If you truly want this made clear, He will make it clear to you.

The “Jesus is my boyfriend” syndrome

According to Famine In The Land:

Jesus is not your boyfriend – “so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:10-11.
By pandering to her Twitter fan club, Beth Moore reveals her distorted, irreverent, and false view of who Jesus is. Mark and avoid this deluded teacher.

“The heretics were never dishonest men…”

“The heretics were never dishonest men; they were mistaken men. They should not be thought of as men who were deliberately setting out to go wrong and to teach something that is wrong; they have been some of the most sincere men that the Church has ever known. What was the matter with them? Their trouble was this: they evolved a theory and they were rather pleased with it; then they went back with this theory to the Bible, and they seemed to find it everywhere.” ― Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Studies in the Sermon on the Mount

But it is not this way among you…

According to Mark 10:42-45:

Calling them to Himself, Jesus *said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them.

“But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant;

and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all.

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:42-45)

A wonderful reminder for pastors, church leaders, and all the saints of God. We need strong pastors. We need pastors who “have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.” (Acts 20: 27)

In these last days we need pastors who are bold in identifying false teachers and teachings, for there are many of these.

But above all, we need pastors who truly love the people of God.

Love of the saints is more important than any “Vision.”

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. (1 Corinthians 13:1)

May the Lord increase our love of Christ, and our love of the saints.
